Private AI family history assistant · Boise & Treasure Valley

Your family history, ready to answer your questions.

Years of careful family history work often ends up spread across old computers, disks, folders, and boxes of paper that only one person knows how to find. We bring it together, protect the originals, and add a private AI assistant. Ask a question in everyday words and get a friendly answer, with the original records right beneath it.

What we do

We work with the family history you already have, digital or on paper: documents, scanned records, photos, letters, and writings. We turn it into one well-organized collection that can answer your questions.

  • Gather everything in one place

Files from old computers, CDs, and flash drives, plus any paper records we scan for you, are collected into a single, organized collection.

  • Protect the originals

Your original files are never altered. Every copy is checked so nothing is quietly lost along the way.

  • Organize it clearly

Family history, photos, letters, and documents are sorted into plain, sensible folders anyone can browse.

  • Ask in plain language

“Where did Grandpa's family live before Idaho?” The assistant reads your records and answers conversationally.

  • Sources with every answer

The records behind each answer appear right below it. One click opens the original, often to the exact page.

  • Runs privately at home

During setup, some files may be processed through outside online services. Once delivered, the AI assistant runs privately on your own computer, with no AI subscription required.

Scanning services

Boxes of paper? We’ll scan those too.

Many family histories live partly on paper: letters, certificates, family group sheets, handwritten notes, and old photographs. We scan them into clear digital copies and add them to your organized collection, so they’re protected from fading and loss and easy to share with the whole family.

Scanned pages go through text recognition, so the AI assistant can read typed and printed pages and point you straight back to the scan. Photographs are preserved as images and organized alongside the records they belong to.

Handwriting and faded pages can be hard for any software to read. The scan itself is always kept, so you can read the original page yourself.

Ask about scanning in a free consultation

A question, Tell me about the family farm, leads to an answer card reading Check the sources for anything important, with lines connecting it to three original documents, each with an Open original button.

Answers with evidence

Ask a question. See where the answer came from.

The assistant reads typed notes, PDFs, and scanned pages, then writes a friendly answer based on what it finds. Every answer lists its sources with the matching passage, so the original record is always one click away. Want the records only? Switch to Research mode for source passages with no AI-written reply.

AI can make mistakes. If accuracy is important to you, check the source documents. Handwriting and faded scans may be misread.

Private and protected

Your life's work stays safe, and stays yours.

We never edit or overwrite your originals. Files are copied, checked against the source, and only then organized, so the archive you use every day matches what you worked so hard to gather. During setup, some files may be processed through outside online services. Once your archive is delivered, the AI assistant runs privately on your own computer.

Made to be enjoyed

Something to explore together.

Large text and a simple layout make it comfortable for the person who built the collection. Grandchildren pull up a chair and start asking questions, and the stories come back to life.

How it works

  1. Free consultation

We talk about what you have, where it lives, and who you'd like to pass it on to. There's no cost and no obligation.

  2. Gather and organize

We consolidate your files, scan any paper records you'd like included, verify every copy, and arrange everything into a clear collection.

  3. Add your AI assistant

We read every document and scanned page, then set up your private assistant with links back to each original.

  4. Hand it forward

We walk you through it and help prepare it for the family members who will carry it on.

Will it run on my computer? Very likely. It runs on a wide range of everyday computers, even modest budget laptops. A more powerful computer lets it draw on more of your records for each answer.

Everything at a glance

Passing it on

A history the next generation will keep.

Boxes and old computers are hard to inherit. A family history that answers questions is something busy children and grandchildren will actually open, explore, and carry forward.

Why we started

This service began at home. My mother spent decades building her family history, and it lived in thousands of files across old computers. We organized it, protected the originals, and added a private AI assistant so our family can simply ask it questions. It brought her life’s work back to life.

Now we offer the same care to other families in the Treasure Valley.
